Latch is a website that generates original lock-chime sounds for you to download. This policy explains what the site does with information. It is written for public use, including App Store review.

What Latch does

Latch creates short audio chimes entirely on your device, in your browser. The sound is synthesized locally. The chime, the waveform, and the file you download are not uploaded to us.

You can play a chime, download a file named LockChime.wav, or download a zip (Boombox.zip) that contains Boombox/LockChime.wav. Those downloads happen only when you choose them. The files stay on your device unless you copy or move them yourself.

Information we do not collect

Latch does not ask you to create an account or sign in. You do not need to give a name, email address, phone number, or payment details to use it.

We do not collect personal information, location, or usage analytics. The site does not include advertising. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers.

Hosting and fonts

Latch is a static website served by Firebase Hosting, a Google service. When your browser loads a page, Google receives ordinary connection data needed to deliver it, such as IP address, browser type, and the address requested, and may keep standard server logs for security and operations. We do not use Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics, or ads, and we do not use those logs to build a profile of you.

The typefaces on this site are loaded from Google Fonts. Your browser requests those font files directly from Google.

Cookies and storage

Latch does not set cookies and does not use browser storage to remember or track you. Playback uses a temporary link to the audio file your browser just created. That link is discarded when you generate a new sound or leave the page.

Children

Latch is a general-audience tool. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Your choices

Because we do not collect an account or a profile, there is no personal information held by Latch for us to provide, correct, or delete. You can stop using the site at any time. Files you downloaded can be deleted from your own device.

If you contact us, we will use that message only to reply. Please avoid sending sensitive personal information.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.

Latch is an independent product by Dylan Womack. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to Tesla, Inc.

Tesla® and related names and marks are trademarks of their respective owners. They are used only to identify the cars Latch is compatible with.

Latch generates original lock-chime sounds on your device. It does not claim to redistribute Tesla's proprietary sounds as official Tesla content.
